Telan Nelson

Staff Physical Therapist

“I am so encouraged by the active community that I get to work with and I fully enjoy helping my clients return to the activities that they love!  Giving my clients the tools and education that they need to feel better, maintain a healthy body, and achieve their goals is a rewarding experience every day.”

Telan received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Biology from UC Davis in 2009. She continued her education to complete a Masters of Physical Therapy from CSU Sacramento in 2011.

She has continued to seek out new learning opportunities in order to augment her clinical practice, including training in sports injury and post-surgical rehabilitation, an intensive 1-year orthopedic manual therapy course, and a special interest in vestibular and balance rehabilitation.

Since 2016, Telan has been pursuing her passion for Pilates by training with Balanced Body to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. She has continued to adapt her Pilates training, with influence from her orthopedic, sports, and vestibular rehabilitation education, in order to work with clients spanning all ages and movement backgrounds. She places an emphasis on developing a Pilates and home exercise program to continue long-term improvements in fitness and to help maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

Telan was a synchronized swimmer for 15 years and worked as an assistant coach for 4 seasons. She continues to volunteer with a local synchronized swim team and enjoys working with dancers, swimmers, and gymnasts to maximize their technique and performance. She also grew up playing soccer and tennis, and pole vaulted for her high school track and field team.
